The division is staffed by two full-time experienced and qualified surgical oncologists, possessing expertise in the surgical treatment of a broad spectrum of malignancies across various organ systems.

Specialized Surgical Expertise: The surgical oncologists at Aditya Hospitals bring a wealth of experience in treating cancers affecting the gastrointestinal tract (esophagus, stomach, pancreas, hepatobiliary, colorectal), breast, genitourinary tract, gynecologic, sarcomas, skin, lung, endocrine (thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal, pancreatic endocrine tumors), and head and neck cancers.

Focus on Minimally Invasive Surgery and Organ Preservation: The division places a special emphasis on minimally invasive surgery and organ preservation whenever applicable, such as in cases involving the larynx, breast, bone cancers, etc. The Breast Specialty Clinic within the division is dedicated to the treatment of breast malignancies and diseases, focusing on breast conservation, breast reconstruction, multimodality therapy, and screening for high-risk patients. Brachytherapy for soft tissue sarcomas and limb salvage for bone tumors are undertaken whenever indicated. The collaborative efforts of the surgical oncology team with plastic surgeons ensure excellent cosmetic results after cancer surgery.

Multidisciplinary Approach: Aditya Hospitals Surgical Oncology Division maintains a close working relationship with other disciplines, including medical oncology, radiation oncology, and pathology. This collaborative approach enables discussions about the most appropriate treatment for patients at each stage of their disease, providing the best chance of success in the fight against cancer.

Medical Oncology Services: The medical oncology component encompasses both adult and pediatric oncology, offering a range of services tailored to specific needs:

  • Preoperative, postoperative, and concurrent chemotherapy for solid tumors.
  • Utilization of biological and hormone therapy.
  • Standard induction and consolidation regimens for leukemias.
  • Management of lymphomas, myeloma, and chronic leukemias.
  • Treatment of pediatric curable cancers, including Wilm’s tumor, neuroblastoma, rhabdomyosarcoma, Ewing’s sarcoma, osteosarcoma, etc., using the latest chemotherapy protocols.
